Most likely to BAN poll on firearms & accessories

This one's multiple choice so check all that you think apply. Post any explanations for your answers.

EDIT : One purpose of this poll is to form a general consensus on the likelyhood of the hardest to get firearms & accessories in the future so that we can make our shortlists and fill any gaps as required now before elections and/or law changes. Later any additional arms or accessories can be sold (for profit) or traded for other armaments depending on individual needs.

I think they'll go after 50-cal. because it can go through bullet-resistant glass and many types of vehicle armor. I'm quietly amazed that they have not yet done so.

50-cal, assualt rifles, Hi-cap magazines. Supreme court gave the hand gun banners a pretty good smack down recently. All in all, I would say the weapons they are after are the ones that would enable the populace to put up a serious defense. So look for attacks on the assault rifles and the 50-cals.

HI cap, AK/AR and 50 cal are all obvious targets. I voted other in expectation of more back door crap with ammo serial numbering and increased regulation.

For AK owners, I'd pick up some of these if you don't have any >> http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=453845

I bought another one last night for myself.

75-round Romanian drum (AK)

Hmmm.......like an ammo restriction or something along those lines ???

BTW ~ serial numbering won't work for Surplus ammo unless they include that as a 'ban' under the serial numbering clause. :banghead:

Yeah, I expect a 1 yr grandfather clause and any unnumbered after that time will be outlawed. Those Fabian socialists are good at slow incrementalism.
We are all criminals, it's just a matter of which bogus law they come after us with.

You forgot a biggie.

The right to carry concealed outside of the home.

BHO has stated in the past that he is totally against the right to carry your legal firearm concealed and is in favor of federal legislation to outlaw it.

I wonder how well that'll go against the Castle Doctrine that TX has just adopted ???

Castle Doctrine in the US

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(Redirected from Castle Doctrine)
Jump to: navigation, search
A Castle Doctrine (also known as a Castle Law or a Defense of Habitation Law) is an American legal concept derived from English Common Law, which designates one's place of residence (or, in some states, any place legally occupied, such as one's car or place of work) as a place in which one enjoys protection from illegal trespassing and violent attack. It then goes on to give a person the legal right to use deadly force to defend that place (his/her "castle"), and/or any other innocent persons legally inside it, from violent attack or an intrusion which may lead to violent attack. In a legal context, therefore, use of deadly force which actually results in death may be defended as justifiable homicide under the Castle Doctrine.

Castle Doctrines are legislated by state, and not all states in the US have a Castle Doctrine. The term "Make My Day Law" comes from the landmark 1985 Colorado statute that protects people from any criminal charge or civil suit if they use force - including deadly force - against an invader of the home.[1] The law's nickname is a reference to the famous line uttered by Clint Eastwood's character Dirty Harry in the 1983 film Sudden Impact, "Go ahead, make my day."

It's likely that Obummer will have more pressing problems on his hands. When basic needs of shelter and sustenance aren't met, no one wishing to get reelected will take on a losing issue.

I had this conversation w/ a fellow GIMmer in person a few days ago over a few frosty beers- I think we came to the conclusion that its a states rights issue.. as so many things will be. If I remember right- there was a certain war fought over such. As nutless as we think the populous is these days, IF the states will maintain their sovereignty- could it happen again? I just want to see SOME entity say to the Fed gov- "HELL NO- WE WON'T DO IT!!"

Hard to tell, but it seems as if the "tragedy du jour" determines who is punished through prohibition.
Take care,

The big 50s are the most likely to be banned. After that high caps and 'assault' rifles are a toss up. Whichever bootlicker gets president will probably get around to banning both.

Keep in mind, the demand is several orders of magnitued greater for high caps and 'assault' rifles.

I voted assault and large mag. I didn't vote "all" 50 cal because I think black powder will survive.

You're right, I missed that. But the 50 BMG and most likely all it's derivatives are at the top of the list.

No doubt I agree. They are a target... pun intended. :D

I chose 50 cal rifles, Semi-auto battle rifles, and hicap mags. I feel that our PTB will deem these weapons too dangerous, to be held by the average man.

They are just looking out for us....

Just out of curiosity, what consitutes a high-capacity magazine? I've seen mags which hold 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, 100... what's high-capacity and what's normal capacity?

All Hi-caps........in California, anything over 10 rounds is Hi-capacity.

:shocked_ma:

For example, if you buy a normal capacity FN-FAL rifle, it comes with a FIXED 10-round mag attached........you're stuck with 10-rounds and must load from a clip - period..........yuck !

Re: Most likely to BAN poll on firearms & accessories

In Maryland the limit is 20 rounds. You can not purchase above that in-state or via mail order. The funny thing is, you can go out of state, buy the 30 rounders, and drive them in legally. You can also order rebuild kits for mags you owend that are over 20 rounds before the limit was put in place.

Crazy stuff.
